As part of our learning about India, we held a special Hindu Day, where the children took part in two different workshops, run by visitors to our school. In the first, the children were taught how to dress in saris and turbans, as well as being treated to a performance of a traditional Indian dance. They were then given a short talk about Hindu beliefs and customs, before acting out the story of Rama and Sita. It was a fantastic morning and all the children, and adults, learnt something new.
On the last Friday of half term, we held our Sport's Day. The children took part in sprint, obstacle and egg and spoon races, before a grand finale of the sprint champion of champions race. We were very proud of how enthusiastic they were, especially on one of the hottest days of the year so far! Take a look at the gallery for our race pictures. |
